👩🏻‍💻 What's Your Role?

🗣️ Workshop 101

As we expect you to lead the workshops, we will give you several notes on how you could ace in being a leader & true mentor!
We want to make sure that the Mentors and TAs feel confident and ready to lead the club, so you are responsible to lead these 2 workshops:

🛫 Onboarding Workshop

Where we get to know about each of the Mentors and TAs better, let them know what Holiday Club is, and what to expect during D-day
Before the onboarding session, we will share the Mentor Handbook to all chosen mentors. In the onboarding session, we will expect them to have read the mentor handbook (look at resources at the bottom of this page) & treat them like rookies! The goal is to familiarize even first-time mentors so that they understand the flipped classroom approach.

👩🏻‍🏫 Classroom Management Workshop

Where we will inform them how to handle the class and what will happen during the class sessions also teach them the technologies we are going to use.
Same as Onboarding, we will share the Mentor 101 Module for them to read & familiarize with before the workshop. The module will talk about:
  1. How to Conduct a Flipped Classroom
  1. Higher Order Thinking Skills
  1. Designing a Lesson Plan

Prep Meetings:

Besides the Workshops, we will also provide the Mentors and TAs with weekly meetings to keep us updated with their progress and guide them for the day-by-day lesson plan, also to make sure that Mentors and TAs store all the final lesson plan and resources needed before class. To make it easier for all of us to observe, we will provide you with mentor absen link where you can write down or take notes about anything during the meeting using comments so we can check it anytime!
  1. Don't forget to encourage the Mentors so they will have more confidence!
  1. Ask the Mentor what they want to achieve and tell them what we expect them to achieve from the Holiday Club
  1. Don't hesitate to share your past experience with future Mentors!
  1. Emphasize to the Mentors to follow every deadline we have, since we want to be stricter than in the past, so it's easier for you as well!
  1. Let the Mentors know the expectation of the Rookies, so they can have the big picture on how to deliver the materials
  1. Explain to the Mentors what would happen each day and how to overcome it
